For the user
Operation is very simple: you download the App and you receive a small notification (optional, at the chosen time) when a new article is available for reading. We do not use Big Data and you will not have to create an account or provide any data.
Organizational structure
In summary, the people who make this project possible are divided into three groups: the authors, the managers, the “validating” experts.
The authors are preferentially, but not exclusively, students or recent graduates of History or related faculties. They are the ones who must propose the articles, complete with the indication of the links to the original sources.
The expert “validators” are preferably university professors, curators of museum collections, historians, etc. Generally professionals, whose professional skills in historical matters are absolutely indisputable.
Obviously the managers are only those who make the project work, IT, back office etc.
The author proposes his article which, however, must be validated by an expert before being scheduled for publication. This is the most important aspect, because it pertains to the training part of the project. To allow young people to try their hand at something concrete, placing them however under the guidance of expert and competent people.
For the Author
Once you have submitted your application (click here), you will be contacted personally.
If accepted as new author, you will obtain access credentials to the portal, where it will be possible to insert your articles, according to the methods and instructions indicated. It’s just a matter of having a little time to dedicate and a lot of passion.
For the Expert
In this initial phase it is just a voluntary work to help young people; it is therefore necessary to have a modest availability of time, passion and good will to spread this passion to the new recruits. The expert receives a notification for a review and, of course, has the option to accept or reject it. If he refuses it, it will be proposed to another expert, if he accepts it, he will be able to see the complete article on the portal, or download it. The review consists in filling in some fields with your observations. In any case, at the end of the revision, he will be able to approve the article or send it back to the editor, so that he can make the changes indicated in the revision. Only once approved will the article be scheduled for translation and publication.
In any case, the expert has the possibility of directly publishing articles, obviously without revision, on subjects of his or her interest.
